The Commonwealth Mountain and Ultra Distance Championships took place 17-20 September 2009 in Keswick, Cumbria. Top athletes from the Commonwealth nations competed in some of the toughest and most spectacular running disciplines in an area renowned for its beauty and rugged terrain. The Championships saw athletes competing in three separate disciplines; mountain races, a 100km road race and a 24-hour race. Each discipline tested athletes to their limits of speed, endurance and mental strength. Spectators enjoyed fast-paced action in the most beautiful locations - and the weather was perfect! New Commonwealth records were set, and the event was hugely successful. Ascent Marketing Communications was the PR and marketing partner for the event. |
